Bassenthwaite Lake. One of the Northern Lakes, noted for its fine fishing and sailing. This is the only 'Lake' in the District - do you know why? a: its the only one with Lake in the name ! The others are meres or waters.
A footpath in Dodd Wood, on one of the walks leading from the Tearoom. The wood has many footpaths and trails, some leading to the top of Dodd Fell. There are superb views of Bassenthwaite Lake from the walks.
